Escalation

Escalation is the handover of a task from an agent to a person or a more capable agent when it meets a situation it cannot or should not handle, such as low confidence, policy limits or repeated failure.

Escalation sits in the Orchestration part of the Agentik {OS} glossary, which defines the words used to build and run AI agent systems.
