Product quantization

Product quantization is a vector compression technique that splits each vector into sub-vectors and replaces each with the ID of its nearest representative, greatly reducing memory for large-scale similarity search.

Product quantization sits in the Retrieval & memory part of the Agentik {OS} glossary, which defines the words used to build and run AI agent systems.
