Approximate nearest neighbor
Approximate nearest neighbor search is a family of algorithms that find vectors very close to a query much faster than exact search, accepting that a few true nearest neighbors may be missed.
Approximate nearest neighbor sits in the Retrieval & memory part of the Agentik {OS} glossary, which defines the words used to build and run AI agent systems.
Also called ANN, approximate nearest neighbor search.
