Iteration limit

An iteration limit is a cap on the number of steps, tool calls or loop cycles an agent may perform on a task, used to prevent runaway loops and to bound cost and running time.

Iteration limit sits in the Agents & tools part of the Agentik {OS} glossary, which defines the words used to build and run AI agent systems.

Also called max iterations, step limit, turn limit.
