Workflow engine

A workflow engine is software that runs defined sequences of steps, tracking their state, handling branching, retries and failures, and ensuring each step runs in the right order.

Workflow engine sits in the Orchestration part of the Agentik {OS} glossary, which defines the words used to build and run AI agent systems.
