Tracing

Tracing is recording the path of a single request as it moves through the components of a system, such as model calls, retrievals and tool invocations, with timing for each step.

Tracing sits in the Infrastructure part of the Agentik {OS} glossary, which defines the words used to build and run AI agent systems.

Also called Distributed tracing, LLM tracing.
