Query rewriting

Query rewriting is transforming a user's query, often with a language model, into a clearer or more search-friendly form, for example by resolving references to earlier conversation or fixing vague wording.

Query rewriting sits in the Retrieval & memory part of the Agentik {OS} glossary, which defines the words used to build and run AI agent systems.

Also called query reformulation.
