Prompt caching

Prompt caching is reusing the processed form of a repeated prompt prefix, such as a long system prompt or document, across requests so later calls are faster and usually cheaper.

Prompt caching sits in the Prompting & context part of the Agentik {OS} glossary, which defines the words used to build and run AI agent systems.

Also called context caching.
