Coding agent

A coding agent is an AI agent that works on software by reading a codebase, editing files, running commands and tests, and iterating on the results to implement features or fix bugs with limited human guidance.

Coding agent sits in the Agents & tools part of the Agentik {OS} glossary, which defines the words used to build and run AI agent systems.
