Summary memory

Summary memory is a memory strategy that replaces older parts of a conversation with a running summary, preserving key points while using far fewer tokens than the full history.

Summary memory sits in the Retrieval & memory part of the Agentik {OS} glossary, which defines the words used to build and run AI agent systems.

Also called conversation summary memory.
