Reasoning tokens

Reasoning tokens are tokens a model generates while working through a problem before producing its final answer. They consume context and compute and may be hidden from or summarized for the user.

Reasoning tokens sits in the Prompting & context part of the Agentik {OS} glossary, which defines the words used to build and run AI agent systems.
