Prompt optimization

Prompt optimization is the systematic, often automated, improvement of prompts by testing variations against examples or metrics and keeping the versions that perform best on a task.

Prompt optimization sits in the Prompting & context part of the Agentik {OS} glossary, which defines the words used to build and run AI agent systems.

Also called automatic prompt optimization, automatic prompt engineering.
