Groundedness

Groundedness is the extent to which a model's answer is supported by the source material it was given, such as retrieved documents, rather than by unsupported claims or outside assumptions.

Groundedness sits in the Evaluation & safety part of the Agentik {OS} glossary, which defines the words used to build and run AI agent systems.

Also called Faithfulness.
