Content provenance is verifiable information attached to digital media that records its origin and edit history, such as whether AI was used, with C2PA being the leading open technical standard for it.

Content provenance sits in the Evaluation & safety part of the Agentik {OS} glossary, which defines the words used to build and run AI agent systems.
